Kristofer Hivju is taking a trip from Westeros to the DC Comics universe.
The Game of Thrones actor has landed a role in the forthcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE directed by Zack Snyder. Hivju is set to play an ancient Atlantean king who is in possession of one of the three alien Mother Boxes, a storyline in the DC universe.
Hivju will join Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, J.K. Simmons, and Willem Dafoe. Chris Terrio penned the script which centers on the formation of the Justice League of America, an organization made up of the world’s greatest superheroes: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern. Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven are set to produce.
The Justice League, which originally was a two-part movie, will now be a single feature slated for an October 2017 release date.
Hivju’s previous film credits include The Thing, After Earth, and most recently, Force Majeure. He can be seen next with Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron in Fast 8.
