Streaming network Netflix has tapped Michiel Huisman to join upcoming drama THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. The series is a reboot of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel which was previously adapted into films in 1963 and 1999.
The story centers on an 80-year-old mansion and the four people who come to stay in the house to investigate its supernatural connection. The book relies on terror over horror, eliciting emotion from readers through the complex relationships between the mysterious events and the characters psyches. Huisman will play Steven Crane, the oldest Crane sibling and published writer of supernatural books – including a memoir about his family’s time living at Hill House.
