Geoffrey Rush has joined the cast of GODS OF EGYPT opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gerard Butler (who joined earlier this morning). The plot details are kind of all over the place but the story will focus on gods (of Egypt, duh) fighting amongst each other with a human thief (Waldau) caught in the middle. Rush will play the Sun god, Ra, father/leader of all.
Alex Proyas (“Knowing”) will direct from a script he co-wrote with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Producing will be Basil Iwanyk and co-producer Viruna St. John.
Rush was last in “La Migliore Offerta” and will next appear in “The Book Thief.”
He is repped by CAA.
