George Clooney is setting up an all-star cast for his next directing project. After signing on to helm SUBURBICON, written by Joel and Ethan Coen, he is now in talks with Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, and Josh Brolin to join the cast. Production is set to begin next October.
Sony Pictures will distribute the project with Joel Silver, Clooney, and Clooney’s Smokehouse partner, Grant Heslov producing. The film is a noir crime drama set in the 1950s in the vein of the Coen brothers’ Blood Simple.
Damon was most recently seen in this summer’s blockbuster The Martian and will be see in next year’s The Great Wall and Bourne Identity sequel. Moore starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 currently in theaters and Freeheld after winning the Best Actress Oscar for Still Alice. Brolin was in this year’s Sicario and will next star opposite Clooney in the Coen brothers’ Hail, Caesar!
