Girls star Allison Williams is set to lead comedian Jordan Peele’s first foray into horror, GET OUT. The film marks a first for them both, as Williams will make her feature debut with the Blumhouse-produced thriller. The former Key & Peele star is both writing and directing, while Jason Blum and QC Entertainment’s Sean McKittrick and Edward H. Hamm Jr. produce. Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson is executive producing, along with QC’s Ray Mansfield and Shaun Redick.
Plot details are generally kept under wraps, though sources confirm that the film will center on an African American man who visits his white girlfriend’s family estate. When the project was first announced in September, Peele stated that the film “takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since Night Of The Living Dead 47 years ago. It’s long overdue.”
Williams plays Marnie on HBO’s comedy Girls, which will be back for its fifth season this February. She most recently assumed the lead role in NBC’s live musical Peter Pan, which aired last December.
She’s repped by CAA.
