“Girls Trip” Breakout Star Tiffany Haddish Signs on for 2 New Projects

Tiffany Hadish, who has made history as the first black female stand-up comedian to host Saturday Night Live is staying busy by landing lead roles in ’s and New Line’s .

Haddish is attached to star in The Temp which is set to be produced by Will Packer who also produced Tiffany’s breakout performance Girls Trip. acquired the original pitch for The Temp from Dana Fox, who is set to write the female-driven comedy. Packer and Fox will produce. James Lopez will also produce and Haddish will serve as executive producer.

Haddish will be joining the ensemble of The Kitchen which will serve as Straight Outta Compton screenwriter Andrea Berloff’s directorial debut. The film is based on the DC Entertainment comic book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle. The series debuted in 2014 and has since gained a cult following. The Irish Mafia story is set in Hell’s Kitchen in the 1970’s. When the FBI comes in and arrests several of the men, the wives end up taking over and running the business much more viciously than the men. Michael De Luca is producing.

While it’s unknown which film will shoot first, The Kitchen is further along in development. Haddish’s other projects include starring alongside Tacy Morgan in TBS “The Last OG.” She recently wrapped production on ’s Night School opposite Kevin Hart. She also has Limited Partners in development with Paramount.

Outside of film and , she is also set to release her book The Last Black Unicorn which releases December 5. She also announced 2018 dates for her stand up tour She’s Ready. She is represented by and Principato Young Entertainment.
