Every once and awhile a trailer is released that feels captivating, heartwarming, and adds a touch of magic. Today that trailer comes from Fox Searchlight in the form of GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN. In a time when so many families were plagued by the memories of war, a story about a boy and his bear brought happiness back into the world.
The trailer follows A.A Milne, a famous author, and father as he creates Winnie the Pooh. We see Milne’s son Christopher and the impact he had on helping create the timeless tale. The story also shows a much darker side to Milne, who is dealing with the lingering trauma of returning from World War I. The film looks to be a magical time with what is sure to be a tear-jerker conclusion.
Woman in Gold director, Simon Curtis, directs Domhnall Gleeson as A.A. Milne with Will Tilston as Christopher and Margot Robbie as Milne’s wife. The film will be released October 13.
