The series would follow five multi-racial adopted siblings who fight for justice in the courtroom amid wildly different legal careers as they delve into the mystery of a family tragedy that exposes the sins of their father.
Gero and Blindspot co-EP Brendan Gall are writing and executive producing, with Berlanti and Sarach Schecter also serving as EPs.
This is the second legal drama CBS has picked up so far this cycle, coming on the heels of buying an untitled drama from Quantico creator Josh Safran.
This is the second project Schechter, Berlanti and Gero are developing this season. They are also working on political drama Republic, which is set up at NBC.
That series, written by Blindspot writer Alex Berger, is described as a hopeful political drama following the newly minted female Chief of Staff to a moderate Republican President. With their administration in dire crisis, they find themselves under fire from extremists on both sides, defending their well-intentioned actions both politically and legally.
The Berlanti/Gero teams also have magician FBI drama Deception, which will premiere this fall on ABC.
