Greg Berlanti Hispanic Family Drama “Casa” Lands at the CW

With a slate full of comic book-based TV series on his resume, is heading in a different direction with his next project CASA, a series centered on the hot-button issue of immigration.

The family drama, which is currently in at Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions, comes from writers Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft and tells the story of six siblings in a Hispanic family who have to band together to survive when their parents get unjustly deported. Gonzalez and Haft will also executive produce with Berlanti and Sarah Shechter.

In addition to Casa, Berlanti Productions is adding another superhero series to the roster in the form of Black Lightning at Fox, which is being written by Salim and Mara Brock AKil. The banner is also developing Deception and the drama Criminal at ABC. Berlanti is also working with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody for the comedy Raised by Wolves.
