Greta Gerwig, Annette Bening and Elle Fanning have joined the cast of the coming of age drama 20TH CENTURY WOMEN. Mike Mills has written the screenplay following the story of a young man that is raised by three women that each bestow different values on him from different eras of the 20th century. The film takes place in Santa Barbara in 1979.
Bening is set to play Dorothea Fields, the mother of the teenaged boy, Jamie, that works hard to raise him. Gerwig will play Abbie, a photographer that immerses herself in punk culture, and moves in with Dorothea and her son. Fanning is set as Julie, a provocative teenager that befriends Jamie, to his mother’s dismay.
Known for her roles in American Beauty and The Kids Are All Right, Bening is set to star in the upcoming drama The Great. She is repped by CAA.
