Doctor Who alum and Guardians of the Galaxy star Karen Gillan has booked the female lead opposite David Dastmalchian in ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW. The indie drama will mark the reunion of Dastmalchian, who also wrote the script, with director Collin Schiffli. The two worked together on the pic Animals which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in 2014.
Gillan and Dastmalchian will play a desperate young couple on the run who end up in Kansas City to seek refuge. Amy Greene, Ignacio Arenas and Chris Stinson are will serve as producers.
Fresh off her appearance at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the reprisal of her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gillan can be seen next in the Ti West Western In a Valley of Violence with Ethan Hawke. She also appears in James Ponsoldt’s adaptation of the Dave Eggers novel The Circle starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson.
