Guillermo del Toro has signed on to executive produce, direct and co-write the pilot version of the long awaited fantasy project, A KILLING ON CARNIVAL ROW. Set in a Victorian-like city where humans and mythical creatures co-exist, the original feature script tells the story of a detective investigating a serial killer. Written by Travis Beacham in 2005, the script had a tumultuous experience as made it’s way to New Line but was dropped after their merger with Warner Bros. Amazon Studios will now breath new life into the project as it transforms the script from a feature into a pilot. Del Toro will be joined in the writer’s room by Travis Beacham and Rene Echevarria. Gary Ungar is also set to produce.
Del Torro has had a wide range of success in both television and films with hits like Pan’s Labyrith, Hellboy, Pacific Rim, and most recently, The Strain. He is presently in post production on his Gothic horror movie Crimson Peak with Pacific Rim 2 due to be his next film.
Del Torro is is repped at WME and Exile.
