As he prepares to take his final bow on Broadway in the smash-hit musical Hamilton, Tony-award winning actor Daveed Diggs has already set up his next project. Diggs will join Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay in the Lionsgate drama WONDER. Stephen Chbosky is set to direct, from a script by Steve Conrad.
The story is about a boy with facial deformities who encounters bullying when he goes to public school for the first time in fifth grade. Daveed will play an English teacher at the school whose approach to literature is to teach what it means to be human.
Diggs, who originated the roles of Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in Lin Manuel Miranda’s smash hit show, recently boarded the HBO sporks mockumentary Tour De Pharmacy with Andy Samberg.
Diggs is repped by WME and Brookside Artist Management.
