Hannibal Buress is the latest actor to make a splash in the cast of BAYWATCH. The stand-up comedian joins Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in Paramount Pictures‘s movie adaptation of the popular ’90s television show about the lifeguards and their slo-mo running adventures.
Directed by Seth Gordon, the story follows a group of lifeguards who have to team up with a former Olympian to save the day. The most recent draft of the script was written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Johnson will produce with Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, and Ivan Reitman. Tom Pollock, Greg Bonnan, Michelle Berk, Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz and Tripp Vinson will all serve as executive producers. Filming is slated to start on February 22.
Buress was the host of Why? With Hannibal Buress on Comedy Central and has appeared on Broad City. His movie credits include Neighbors and Daddy’s Home. His voice can be heard in the upcoming animated features The Secret Lives of Pets and The Angry Birds Movie. Later this year, he can be seen in James Franco’s The Disaster Artist.
He is repped by WME.
