HBO Developing Four “Game of Thrones” Spinoff Series

As the war for the iron throne is entering the final act, and final seasons, HBO is not ready to say goodbye to GAME OF THRONES and has put four different series in based on the Westeros universe. Current showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff are not currently attached to pen any of the potential series but will executive produce.

Details on the various series are being kept under wraps, so they could be direct spinoffs, sequels, prequels, or simply another taking place in Westeros. Scribes , , , and Carly Wray have been tapped to each pen one of the series. Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin will be writing the with Goldman and Wray. There is no timetable for when any of these series would air, with HBO deciding to make their choice on which series are moving forward after the are in.

Game of Thrones‘ season seven will debut in July, and Benioff and Weiss are at work on the eighth and final season which will air in 2018. Both seasons have received a shorter episode order than previous years, which each had ten episodes.
