We’re hearing that spec DRUG TUNNEL is going out to all buyers this weekend! The thriller, written by David Chirchirillo, is being pitched as a hostage thriller in the vein of “Dog Day Afternoon” and centers on a hapless would-be-criminal who winds up stuck in a drug tunnel with the cartel on the Mexican side and the DEA on the American side while his hostage may be the only thing keeping him alive. The project is coming from Ineffable Pictures and is getting a lot of positive feedback so far.
Jesse Israel, Raphael Kryszek, and Ross Putman are attached to produce under their Ineffable Pictures banner. Ineffable is packaging the sci-fi drama “Only” which they’re looking to shoot later this year and have partnered with Virgin Produced for the adaptation of “Fakebook,” a memoir written by Dave Cicirelli. They are also putting together half hour comedy series “Forever Dan” with De Line Pictures.
Chirchirillo penned the 2013 SXSW Midnight Audience Award Winner “Cheap Thrills,” which premiered earlier this year. He’s also the scribe behind “Dances with Werewolves,” a horror/western set in 1864 which follows four confederate POWs who find themselves on the run from a pack of blood-thirsty Native American werewolves.
Expect to hear more about this project soon and stay tuned to the Tracking Board for all the up-to-date info!
