Actor/comedian Jonathan Daniel Brown is out with his first spec script HIGH JACKED and it’s getting some serious buzz. The project is out to studios and production companies all over town, including Green Hat Films, 21 Laps, Point Grey, Montecito and Hurwitz Schlossberg – all companies known for their comedy projects. Brown is himself a comedian and has starred in comedies “Project X,” “Bad Milo,” and “Kid Cannabis,” a crime/drama that follows a high school drop out and his twenty-seven year old friend who start trafficking marijuana across the border of Canada in order to make money.
Out from Andrew Rogers, Matt Smith and Melissa Orton at ICM and David Martin, Isaac Horne and Jakob Markovits at Avalon, “High Jacked” is described as “Pineapple Express” meets “Captain Phillips.” It centers on two best friends and college roommates Jesse and Maxine, who stow away on a party yacht for one last epic adventure. Their party takes an unexpected turn when pirates hijack the ship and become the ultimate buzzkill. Sounds like he’s doing pretty well for his first time out.
