Horror spec HATE NIGHT is heating up, and heading into more territories. The hot horror/thriller spec is out with an exciting package, with Intrigue, Scott Milam, and Rubicon Entertainment attached to produce and Sundance director Calvin Reeder to helm. Reeder is perhaps best known for his Sundance feature The Rambler, which starred Dermot Mulroney, Ali Larter, and Natasha Lyonne.
Yesterday, we confirmed that the project was out to Focus Features, Fox Searchlight, CBS Films, New Line Cinema, and Dimension Films. I can now confirm that Hate Night is into Millennium, Lakeshore, and Amazon Studios.
Written by Justin Boyd and VJ Boyd (FX’s Justified), the project has been pitched in the vein of The People Under The Stairs. VJ Boyd is known for his work on FX’s hit series Justified, on which he writes and produces. The duo are repped by Ari Greenburg at WME and Jeremy Platt at PLATTFORM.
Spec is now into:
New Line Cinema
Stay tuned for more info on this project as it develops!
