Doppelgangers writing duo Evan Mirzai and Shea Mirzai are out with a brand new spec that’s shaking up the town. The brothers, repped by Allen Fischer at Principato-Young and Adam Kanter and Martin Spencer at Paradigm, have a hysterical international action comedy out today, OUR WEEK WITH WALLER.
The premise centers around two hopelessly overmatched Americans who, after getting laid off, cash in their vacation pay and head abroad to Spain where they run afoul of a German terrorist and the beautiful British INTERPOL agent pursuing him.
The story has elements of recent smash-hits like Spy and 21 Jump Street, with broad comedy appeal, international locales and strong action-driven set pieces.
We’re also hearing that there may be a package involving Zac Efron in play, which could certainly raise the stakes. We can confirm that Barry Josephson and his Josephson Entertainment are eyeing this one, taking it into Sony and Screen Gems, as is Ready Player One producer Donald De Line with his De Line Pictures over at Warner and New Line.
