Helen Mirren is in talks to join THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY which is based on the novel “The Hundred-Foot Journey: A Novel” written by Richard C Morais. Mirren would play the Madame Mallory a famous french chef who reluctantly forms a mentoring bond with a young Indian boy whose family owns the rival eatery.
Producing will be Oprah Winfrey, Rebecca Hobbsm, Steven Spielberg and Juliet Blake from a script by Steven Knight. Director Lasse Hallstrom has been set by Dreamworks, while the casting is still up in the air.
Mirren will next show up in “Red 2”. Hallstrom last directed “Safe Haven”.
Mirren and Hallstrom are repped by CAA and UTA respectively.
