Based on the novel of the same name by Deborah Moggach, the film is set against the backdrop of the 17th Century Tulip Wars, where a married noblewoman has an affair with an artist and switches identities with her maid to escape the wealthy merchant she married. She and her lover try to raise money together by investing what little they have in the high-stakes tulip market. If she joins the film, Grainger would play the married woman.
Harvey Weinstein is producing with Alison Owen, Neris Thomas and Paul Trijbits.
Grainger previously starred in “Jane Eyre”, “Anna Karenina” and “Great Expectations” and will next be seen in “Cinderella.”
She is repped by WME.
