Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to join the Tom Hooper-helmed adaptation of the classic French novel LES MISERABLES. The Aussie thesp circling one of the lead roles, either protagonist, Jean Valjean, or police inspector, Javert. Along with the Victor Hugo novel, the project will also be based on the Broadway musical, which receieved critical acclaim and numerous awards. There is there is no doubt that Jackson would be perfect for either role, himself a Broadway actor, and also previous host of the Tony awards. And Not to forget his opening musical number, that Dan Harmon wrote, during the 81st Annual Academy Awards, which he also hosted.
The project is set up at Universal, with Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Cameron Mackintosh set to produce.
