Marvel has booked its cast for the upcoming RUNAWAYS series on Hulu. The series hails from Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Marvel Television, and ABC Signature.
The comic series was created by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona. It features six teenagers who can barely stand one another but must unite against a common foe – their parents. The cast includes:
Rhenzy Feliz has been cast as Alex Wilder. Alex a self-proclaimed nerd and admitted loner who enjoys playing video games. The casting reunites Feliz for a second time with Hulu after appearing in the second season of the Jason Reitman series Casual. He is repped by Abrams Artists and LINK Entertainment.
Lyrica Okano will play the tough, smart, and independent Nico Minoru. Nico practices “Wiccan” and isolates herself from friends and family with her goth garb. Okano’s TV credits include The Affair, Unforgettable, and The Michael J. Fox Show. She is repped by Innovative Artists and MKSD Talent Management.
Virginia Gardner has landed the role of Karolina Dean. She gives the appearance of a model teen but is weighed down by the overachiever status her parents expect of her, which all she wants is to explore her own identity. Gardner has been seen previously on The Goldbergs, Glee, and How to Get Away with Murder. She is repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Ariela Barer has been tapped to play Gert Yorkes, a purple-haired and contemporary riot grrrl. She is a social justice warrior, who rarely passes up a cause to fight for. Barer guest starred on the Netflix series One Day at a Time, Keenan’s Crush, and played a Young Cece on Fox’s New Girl. She is repped by AKA Talent Agency and Myrna Lieberman Management.
Gregg Sulkin plays the high school heartthrob and jock, Chase Stein. He is the son an incredibly successful engineer and shows his own flashes of brilliance as well. Sulkin previously starred in the MTV series Faking It and has appeared on Life in Pieces, Pretty Little Liars, and Wizards of Waverly Place. He is repped by UTA and D2 Management.
Allegra Acosta has been cast as Molly Hernandez and is the youngest and most innocent member of the group. She is known for her need to belong and upbeat sensibility. Acosta previously appeared in the series 100 Things to Do Before High School. She is repped by Coast to Coast and Artistic Endeavors.
The series is written and executive produced by Schwartz and Savage, who will also serve as showrunners. Other executive producers include Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski produces.
