The cast for Aaron Zelman’s (Damages) Hulu series, CRASH AND BURN has been announced. Alex Fitzalan (Slender Man), Sebastian Chacon (Mr. Robot), Camilia Perez (Gotham), and Alex Wolff (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) will star in the coming-of-age thriller.
The series is based on the bestselling book by Michael Hassan, centers on Steven “Crash” who saved hundreds of lives when he stopped his classmate commiting a school shooting. Crash and Burn will dive into the complex world of these students and the adults they become.
Fitzalan will play the local hero, Steve. Since averting the shooting his father has pressured Crash to write a book about his experiences to get him into a good college. This forces Steve to confront his past and the events that led up to the horrific event.
Chacon is set to play JR Lopez, whose part in the incident is still unclear. Wolff will portray Gabriel, a good friend of JR and Steve. Perez will play JR’s older sister, Roxanne Lopez.
The project has been in development for more than a year at Sony Pictures. Creator-writer Zelman, Alan Gasmer & Peter Jaysen, Michael Dinner, and Katie Dimento executive produced.
Fitzalan is represented by United Talent Agency and Allison Stroot. Sebastian Chacon is repped by Bloc Talent Agency and Jim Daly. Camilia Perez is repped by Innovative Artists and Benjamin Carnegie. Alex Wolff is repped by Creative Artists Agency and Kevin Lin.
