Sam Claflin has landed the lead role in the biopic ROBIN FRIDAY. He will portray Friday, the soccer player who became a fan favorite during his tenures for Reading and Cardiff City and became infamous for his hard-partying ways before retiring in 1977. The project, based on the biography The Greatest Football You Never Saw written by Paul McGuigan and Paolo Hewitt, has been in development since 2012. The script has been written by Hewitt and Julian Stone. Henry-Alex Rubin is set to direct.
Known for his role in The Hunger Games:Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, Claflin also starred in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White and the Huntsman.
