John C. Reilly and Ashley Jensen are joining the cast of THE LOBSTER. Set in a future where single people are arrested and must find a mate in 45 days or risk being turned into the animal of their choice and banished to The Woods. A desperate man escapes to The Woods and, against regulations, falls in love. Presumably, someone chooses to become a lobster. Sure, why not?
Jensen played the spunky Scottish best friend on “Ugly Betty” but has more recently lent her voice to “Gnomeo & Juliet” and “How to Train Your Dragon.” Funnyman Reilly is best known for his comedic roles alongside Will Ferrell in “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Step Brothers.” Next up for Reilly is “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Marvel’s upcoming action/adventure flick out later this year.
Shooting has already begun in Ireland with Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz and will wrap up in seven weeks. The project is the English language debut of Greek director Giorgos Lanthimos whose 2009 film “Dogtooth” won at Cannes.
