Catherine Zeta-Jones and Judy Greer have signed on to round out the cast of the upcoming Gerard Butler-starrer PLAYING THE FIELD. The film, which also stars Uma Thurman, Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid and Noah Lomax, centers on an ex-soccer player (Butler) who attempts to rebuild his relationship with his son and ex-wife by giving up his womanizing ways, and teaching his son’s soccer team. However, problems arise, as soon as he meets the alarmingly attractive mothers of the kids on his team. Jonathan Mostow and Kevin Misher produce the film, with director Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) at the helm.
Zeta-Jones, whose last starring role was in the 2007 film “Kitchen Confidential” is also in pre-production on the Bruce Willis-starrer “Lay the Favorite”. Greer, who was last seen in “Love and Other Drugs” and “Barry Munday” has “Jeff Who Lives at Home” and “Henry’s Crime” set for release this year.
