I’m a big fan of HBO’s Insecure, and if you’ve ever seen it, then you’re familiar with Natasha Rothwell, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind as Kelli on the show. The veteran comedy writer also serves as executive story editor on Insecure, having previously written for Saturday Night Live. Now, Rothwell is finally getting a shot in the feature world, as Paramount is hiring her to write the comedy BRIDAL RECALL, the Tracking Board has confirmed.
Bridal Recall reimagines the screenplay Identity Crisis by Chum Langhorne and Brent Askari. The story follows a woman who wakes up with amnesia, only to discover it’s her wedding day. She has to remember who she is, figure out who she’s marrying, and decide whether to go through with the ceremony.
Rothwell can currently be seen in Love, Simon, and she’s also set to return for the upcoming third season of Insecure. She’s also developing her own HBO project. Rothwell is represented by WME and Edna Cowan Management. Deadline broke the news.
