Comic-Con: “Iron Fist” Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix


Marvel's Iron Fist

has renewed for a second season, Marvel’s Jeph Loeb announced during the Defenders panel at Comic-Con on Friday.

Game of Thrones alum Finn Jones stars as the titular superhero, aka Danny Rand, the long-lost heir to a multi-billion dollar company. After training for years in the fabled city of K’un L’un, he is chosen to be the Iron Fist, a powerful warrior who channels his chi energy into his fists.

Season 2 of Iron Fist is expected to find Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) teaming up with NYPD detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) from Luke Cage, as originally seen in the Marvel comics. Rosario Dawson appeared in the first season as nurse Claire Temple, and she was joined by Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, David Wenham and Wai Ching Ho.

Iron Fist was the fourth Marvel series released by , which is gearing up for the premiere of the superhero extravaganza The Defenders on Aug. 18. The streaming service also debuted a trailer for The Punisher series starring Jon Bernthal, who played the character in the second season of Daredevil.
