Lionsgate has finally found its Finnick Odair.
After lengthy negotiations Sam Claflin is set to take on the role for CATCHING FIRE. The thesp beat out Ben Walker, Boyd Holbrook and Tyler Hoechlin for the role in the sequel. Those who read the book will remember Finnick as the District 4’s Hunger Games victor who won at the age of fourteen. Claflin will be joining key returnees Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson and newcomers Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone and Bruno Gunn among others.
Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik will produce.
British thesp Claflin has made appearances in two big Hollywood productions: “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Snow White And The Huntsman”. Along with “Catching Fire”, the next films on the slate for him are “The Quiet Ones”, “Overdrive” and “Belle”.
