Togetherness star Melanie Lynskey has been cast as the female lead opposite Andre Holland in J.J. Abrams and Stephen King’s upcoming Hulu drama CASTLE ROCK. The series also stars Sissy Spacek and Jane Levy.
The project is set in a fictional Maine town and combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light.
Lynskey is set to play Molly Strand, a woman with a rare medical condition who’s barely scraping by as a real estate agent in a town where every third property is the site of someone’s worst nightmare. She joins previously cast Holland, who will play Henry, a death row attorney with a unique and complicated history in Castle Rock.
San Shaw and Dustin Thomason executive produce the series along with Abrams, Ben Stephenson, and Liz Glotzer.
Lynskey has a long resume on both film and television, most recently starring in the HBO comedy Togetherness opposite Mark Duplass and was a regular on the long-running CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.
She is repped by Gersh.
