Based on the 1993 novel titled Tony and Susan by Austin Wright, the story follows a woman that receives a manuscript for a novel from her ex-husband. The violent material in the novel forces her to remember her past and face dark truths within herself.
Adams has reportedly pursued the project, which was officially announced yesterday. Gyllenhaal has also expressed his interest in joining.
This will mark Tom Ford’s return to directing, following the 2009 Oscar nominated film A Single Man, starring Colin Firth.
Gyllenhaal recently starred in the thriller Nightcrawler, and is set to star in the boxing drama Southpaw.
Adams, a five time Oscar nominee, is set to reprise her role as Lois Lane in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
