Actor-turned-director Paul Dano has tapped Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan to star in the big screen adaptation of the Richard Ford novel WILDLIFE.
Earlier this year, the Tracking Board broke the news of Dano’s directorial debut of the drama which centers on a boy who witnesses his parents’ marriage falling apart after his mom finds another man.
Dano, who co-wrote the script with Zoe Kazan, will also produce the film with Oren Moverman and Ann Ruark. Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks from June Pictures have also signed on as producers alongside Riva Marker and Gyllenhaal for Nine Stories. Kazan and Eddie Vaisman will serve as executive producers.
Gyllenhaal stars in Tom Ford’s forthcoming Oscar-bait pic Nocturnal Animals which recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently filming the sci-fi thriller Life and can be seen next in Joon-ho Bong’s Okja as well as the Boston Marathon drama Stronger.
Mulligan recently starred in Suffragette and Far from the Madding Crowd. She can be seen next in the Dee Rees drama Mudbound opposite Garrett Hedlund and Jason Clarke.
