The upcoming sci-fi thriller LIFE from Skydance and Sony has added two more cast members: Olga Dihovichnaya and Ariyon Bakare. They join the previously attached Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, and Hiroyuki Sanada; production on the film began today at London’s Shepperton Studios.
The project follows a crew on the International Space Station who end up studying a sample from Mars, which may be the first evidence of extraterrestrial life. However, this life proves beyond intelligent. There is no word yet on who is playing whom in the thriller.
Daniel Espinosa is directing the film. He previously helmed Safe House, also with Reynolds, and the feature film Child 44. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who co-wrote Reynolds’ superhero film Deadpool, are penning the script for this movie as well. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance are producing alongside Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn, with a worldwide release set for March 24, 2017.
Dykhovichnaya is a foreign film actress, having appeared in films like House of Others and Welcome Home. Bakare is known for his work in BBC series such as New Blood, Thirteen, and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.
Bakare is repped by Curtis Brown Group and MGMT Entertainment.
