The spec, which sold in a seven-figure deal back in March and written by in-demand scribe James Vanderbilt, follows a Secret Service agent (Tatum) who must rescue the President after a group of mercenaries take the White House and demand the release of foreign criminals. Roland Emmerich will direct.

Vanderbilt and partners Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis will produce for Mythology Entertainment, while Emmerich and Harald Kloser will also produce.

Woods is known for playing gangster Max Bercovicz in “Once Upon a Time in America”, Hades in Disney’s “Hercules” and a photojournalist in Oliver Stone’s “Salvador”, for which he garnered an Academy Award nomination. He was last seen in the thriller “Straw Dogs.” He is currently in on the indie Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs.”
