Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan are set to lead the remake of SLEEPLESS NIGHT. Based on a 2011 French film directed by Frederic Jardin, the story centers on an undercover cop trying to locate and retrieve his kidnapped son from a drug-dealing nightclub owner after his only bargaining chip is taken from him. Andrea Berloff wrote the script and Baran Bo Odar is directing the remake, which is being produced by Roy Lee and Adam Stone for Vertigo Entertainment.
Foxx just starred in the remake of Annie and was featured in Horrible Bosses 2. He is currently working on The Trap, a drama with Benicio Del Toro about a crime family in the South, and he’s attached to Mean Business on North Ganson Street, about a disgraced detective who is assigned to work with a demoted cop in a violent Midwest town where a killing spree is targeting police officers.
Monaghan will next be seen in the Columbia’s Pixels. Directed by Chris Columbus, the sci-fi comedy follows video game experts who are recruited by the military to fight 1980s-era video game characters who’ve attacked New York. She stars with Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage.
