The story centers on a meek small-town pharmacist, stuck in a loveless marriage, who rediscovers himself through an affair with a trophy wife who introduces him to the wonderful world of prescription drugs, and the idea of murdering her husband. Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Ray Liotta, Ben Schwartz and Ken Howard are also set for the film, which has begun shooting.
Fonda will play a customer of the pharmacist (Rockwell) in question and her character is said to be the conscience of the film.
Joe Neurauter, Felipe Marino, Keith Calder and Kate Sharp will produce.
Fonda, a two-time Oscar winner for her performances in “Coming Home” and “Klute”, most recently starred in this year’s “And If We All Lived Together” and has been cast as Nancy Reagen in the upcoming drama “The Butler”.
She is repped by CAA.
