Jane Lynch has been cast as one of the two leads in ANGEL FROM HELL, CBS’ newest comedy pilot. The half-hour project hails from Tad Quill and CBS TV Studios, with Quill on board as writer and executive producer. The comedy follows Amy (Lynch), a larger-than-life and brassy woman who claims to be the guardian angel of Allison. They form an unlikely friendship, even though Allison isn’t sure if Amy is truly an angel or truly nuts.
Lynch is wrapping up her Emmy-and Golden-Globe-winning turn as Sue Sylvester on Fox’s soon-to-be-ending Glee. She is also the host of the celebrity game show Hollywood Game Night on NBC, for which she won a second Emmy. Her film appearances include voicing a character in Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, a featured role in Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
Lynch is repped by Domain Talent and MGMT Entertainment.
The series finale of Glee airs as a special 2-hour event on Friday, March 20, at 8pm on Fox.
