Robert Zemeckis has cast Jared Harris in his next feature, an untitled spy thriller set in World War II. The script was penned by Steven Knight.
The film follows married assassins who fall in love and wed in Casablanca whilst on a mission to assassinate a German ambassador; however, their happiness is abruptly ended when the husband receives intel that his wife may be a double agent working for the Germans.
Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard are set to play the married assassins.
The film begins production next week in Europe with a premiere date set for November 23rd. Graham King, Zemeckis, and Steve Starkey are producing with GK Films and New Regency. Knight, Jack Rapke, Patrick McCormick, and Denis O’Sullivan are executive producing.
Harris was most recently seen in last year’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Poltergeist, and also lent his voice to The Boxtrolls.
He is repped by ICM Partners, Gateway Management Company, and Independent Talent Group in the UK.
