30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto will be making his return to acting with the biopic-drama THE DALLAS BUYERS CLUB.
The film follows the true story of Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) who, when diagnosed with AIDS and frustrated with the lack of medical options, created a lucrative smuggling business that made alternative drugs available to patients and helped himself live for another six years. Leto will play a flamboyant cross-dresser with HIV who helps Woodroof. Jennifer Garner will also star in the film, which is being produced by Robbie Brenner, Rachel Rothman-Winter, Nathan Ross, David Bushell and Marc Abraham.
Having taken a five-year hiatus from acting to focus on his music and his documentary “Artifact”, Leto will be back in front of the camera for the first time since 2009’s “Mr. Nobody”. Some of his most famous roles came in in the late 90’s-early 2000’s in “Fight Club”, “The Thin Red Line” and “Requiem for a Dream”. He is repped by CAA.
