Jason Bateman is set to star and direct Universal comedy UNTITLED FBI WEDDING PROJECT. The long awaited project was previously set up at Warner Bros. with Steve Carell attached to star and produce but has since been picked up by Universal. David Flebotte and Phil Alden Robinson wrote earlier drafts of the comedy but playwright David Katz is now writing a new take on the project that centers on two undercover FBI agents who pretend to fall in love and their wedding turns into a trap for the mob.
Bateman made his directorial debut last year with the comedy “Bad Words” and will be directing the upcoming “The Family Fang,” which he will also star in alongside Nicole Kidman and Christopher Walken. He’s also set to reprise his role as Nick Hendricks in “Horrible Bosses 2” and will appear in rom/com “The Longest Week” with Olivia Wilde.
Bateman is repped by CAA.
