Coming off of his summer blockbuster Jason Bourne, Paul Greengrass has entered negotiations to direct NESS, written by Brian Helgeland based on the graphic novel Torso by Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko about the life of Elliot Ness and his team of Prohibition agents, The Untouchables, as they took down Chicago crime boss Al Capone. Paramount Pictures has latched on as the studio.
Helgeland, who won an Academy Award in 1998 for Best Adapted Screenplay for L.A. Confidential, worked with Greengrass on The Bourne Supremacy, the first of three Jason Bourne films directed by Greengrass.
Greengrass will produce alongside Greg Goodman, John Davis, and John Fox from Davis Entertainment and David Engel from Circle of Confusion. Bendis and Andreyko will serve as executive producers.
Greengrass is represented by CAA.
