Jean Dujardin, the French thesp who won an Oscar for his turn in “The Artist”, may be joining THE WOLF OF WALL STREET opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Kyle Chandler and Jonah Hill. The pic, adapted by Terence Winter from the true memoirs of Jordan Belfort, follows a hard-partying Wall Street broker as his life falls apart. Heavyweight helmer Martin Scorsese is set to direct.
If he does join the project, Dujardin will play a Swiss banker named Jean-Jacques Handali. Handali was involved in money laundering with Belfort. Chandler will play the FBI agent who eventually brought Belfort’s fun to an end. Red Granite is producing alongside DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way.
Dujardin is attached to the upcoming French spy thriller “Mobius”, and can currently be seen in “The Players” – a French comedy which he also had a hand in writing.
Dujardin is repped by WME.
