Jeff Bridges is officially on board to star alongside Ryan Reynolds in Universal’s supertatural-comedy, R.I.P.D. Based on the Dark Horse comic book written by Peter Lenkov. The feature, helmed by Robert Schwentke, follows a murdered cop who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a ghost-busting police force (itself comprised of ghosts) that battles spirits unready to depart into the afterlife. Production is set to begin his fall.
Original Films’ Neal Moritz is producing with Mike Richardson and David Dobkin. Peter Lenkov, Ori Marmur and Michael Fottrell to executive produce.
