Dr. Ian Malcolm lives, as Jeff Goldblum’s character from the first two Jurassic Park movies will return for the JURASSIC WORLD sequel starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the Tracking Board has confirmed.
J.A. Bayona is directing the blockbuster for Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment after the first film from director Colin Trevorrow grossed nearly $1.7 billion worldwide. Trevorrow returned to write the script with Derek Connolly, though plot details are being kept inside the raptor pen.
In addition to Goldblum’s know-it-all mathematician, the Jurassic World sequel has added fresh faces such as Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones.
Frank Marshall, Pat Crowley and Belén Atienza are producing, while Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow serve as executive producers. Universal executive Sara Scott will oversee production on behalf of the studio.
Goldblum recently starred in Independence Day: Resurgence and will soon be seen in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. He also lends his voice to Wes Anderson’s upcoming stop-motion animated film Isle of Dogs, which just landed a new release date.
Goldblum brings class to every movie he’s in, so his return to the Jurassic universe is more than welcome. He’s represented by ICM Partners and Industry Entertainment, and the Hollywood Reporter broke the news of his return.
