Jennifer Morrison, who currently stars on ABC’s Once Upon A Time, will now head behind the camera as she makes her feature directorial debut with SUN DOGS under her newly launched production banner Apartment 3C Productions.
Dogs is a comedy from Anthony Tambakis that follows a young misfit with three failed attempts to join the Marines under his belt. Taking a Marine officer’s advice to “protect the homefront” a little too seriously, he sets his sights on a casino manager who may or may not be a terrorist mastermind, and enlists the help of young runaway, forming the most unlikely possible anti-terrorism unit in a story of love, friendship, and homeland security.
Filming is planned to begin this summer. UTA Independent Film Group is handling financing and repping worldwide rights. Morrison is co-producing with Andrew Carlberg.
Dogs is the first of two projects that Morrison and Tambakis are developing under Morrison’s Apartment 3C. Morrison said, “Apartment 3C was created with the vision of utilizing the experience I have harnessed from working alongside talented directors and visionaries for the last 20 years and crafting my own voice as a storyteller across all mediums. My desire is to build a trusted team of actors, writers, directors, and artists who desire to work and create together in different capacities in order to flourish artistically in a variety of genres.”
Morrison and Tambakis previously worked together on Warrior, which Morrison starred in opposite Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy. He also penned American Express. He is repped by CAA.
Morrison previously starred in the Fox drama House before her current lead role in the family series Once Upon A Time. She is repped by UTA and John Carrabino.
