Jeremy Renner has joined the sci-fi thriller STORY OF YOUR LIFE. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners), and based on the short story by Ted Chiang, the film centers on a linguist expert who is recruited by the military to determine whether alien crafts that have landed across the world come in peace or are a threat. Amy Adams stars as Dr. Louise Banks, the linguist who learns to communicate with the aliens and begins experiencing vivid flashbacks that become the key to unlocking the greater mystery about the true purpose of their visit.
Renner is said to play a physics professor who is paired by the government with Dr. Banks to help communicate with the aliens.
Renner is reuniting with Adams, with whom he previously appeared David O. Russell’s drama American Hustle. He currently stars as Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will next be seen in the role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to release in May.
Renner is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
