Comedic actor Jerrod Carmichael is looking to get behind the wheel of an Autobot (or Decepticon) in TRANSFORMERS 5.
Carmichael is in talks to join Mark Wahlberg for the Michael Bay-directed Paramount sequel. Black Hawk Down‘s Ken Nolan wrote the script with Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. The next installment of the franchise is expected to expand the Transformers universe into spin-off movies headed by Akiva Goldsman. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, and Tom DeSanto are set to produce while Bay and Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producers. The movie is slated for a June 23, 2017 release date.
Carmichael currently writes for and stars in the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show. He can be seen next on the big screen in the comedy Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising as well as The Meddler starring Susan Sarandon.
