Jesse Plemons has joined Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in the Scott Cooper-directed period drama HOSTILES.
Set in 1892, the story follows an Army captain who reluctantly escorts a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands. Along their long and arduous journey from New Mexico to Montana, the rivals join forces to endure the harsh landscape and battle hostile Comanches along the way. Bale is set to play the Army captain with Plemons playing a member of the calvary unit. Pike has been cast as a widow whose family was murdered on the plains.
The script is based on a manuscript written by Donald Stewart, who also wrote the Academy Award-winning screenplay for Missing. Cooper will also serve as a producer alongside John Lesher and Ken Kao of Waypoint Entertainment.
This marks the second collaboration between Cooper and Plemons. The pair worked together on the Whitey Bulger biopic, Black Mass. Plemons recently appeared in the second season of Fargo, a role which earned him a Critics Choice Award. His other film credits include Bridge of Spies and Other People which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. He can be seen next in the sci-fi drama The Discovery with Rooney Mara and Robert Redford as well as Doug Liman’s Mena starring Tom Cruise.
He is repped by TalentWorks.
