The Oscar-nomianted actor plays Molly Bloom, the former Olympic-level skier who ran a high-stakes poker ring for the rich Wall Street and Hollywood elite during the 2000s before being arrested.
Sorkin adapted the movie from Bloom’s own memoir with the extended title of Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker.
The movie also stars Idris Elba (featured in the trailer), Kevin Costner as Molly’s father Larry Bloom, Michael Cera, Chris O’Dowd and Samantha Isler as the teenage version of Molly.
The movie will have its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival — something that was announced concurrently with the trailer debut — before being released nationwide by STXfilms on November 22.
